R+T Australia 2014, the inaugural trade fair for doors, windows, awnings and blinds will be held on August 21-23, 2014 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

R+T Australia 2014 is a spin-off event of R+T in Stuttgart, Germany, regarded as the world’s leading trade fair for roller shutters, doors, gates, windows, glass and sun protection systems across industrial, commercial and residential applications.

Thurain Aye of Link Exhibitions, the Australian representative for R+T comments that R+T is regarded as the world’s benchmark exhibition for doors, windows, awnings and blinds, particularly in the commercial and industrial sectors, and is celebrating its 50th anniversary in Stuttgart in 2014.

Following a series of successful spin-off events in Shanghai, Moscow and Istanbul, the trade exhibition will enter Australia with the inaugural edition of R+T Australia. The announcement has received strong interest from Australian and international suppliers with over 200 expressions of interest, and more than 40% of the show’s 5000m² gross floor space sold.

Aye explains much of the demand is coming from Australian manufacturers and retailers, as well as European, Asian and North American suppliers keen to enter the Australian market. R+T Australia is also ideally located for suppliers seeking to get into South-East Asian markets.

He said that R+T Australia would introduce Australian architects, builders, specifiers, designers, building owners and government agencies among many others to some of the best European and international doors, windows, awnings and blinds technology as well as the latest Australian-manufactured and designed products.

Aye observes that there are plenty of exhibitions and trade fairs in Australia catering for the home-building sector, but no niche events aimed specifically at the commercial and industrial side of the industry.

He adds that R+T Australia will offer the commercial, industrial and large-scale residential building sectors a genuine one-stop-shop to see the latest technology, developments and innovations in roller shutters, doors, gates, windows, glass and sun protection systems from an extremely wide cross-section of suppliers based in Australia as well as other regions.

Energy efficiency solutions for buildings will be a major area of focus at R+T Australia 2014. The Australian building industry, along with architects, furnishings and fittings companies, representatives from public authorities and building owners, will be able to learn about the latest developments and products for improving building energy efficiency and reducing running costs.

R+T Australia 2014 will also incorporate forums covering topics such as building energy efficiency, high-efficiency sun protection, glassing of facades, green building innovations and more, alongside the exhibition, which will be taking up at least three bays of the Melbourne Conference and Exhibitions Centre (MECC).

R+T Australia is being organised by Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH in conjunction with Australia-based Link Exhibitions.

Foundation technical and conceptual support is being provided by Germany’s Federal Association for Manufacturers of Roller Shutters and Sun Protection (BVRS) and the German National Federation of Door and Gate Manufacturers (BVT).
