    Latest product offerings to be launched by HVG at designEX 2010

    HVG Decorative Building Products

    A new engineered stone surface, Second Life, is set to have its Australian launch at designEX 2010. Second Life is manufactured from up to 90 percent recycled content and will be one of the drawcards of the Halifax Vogel Group (HVG) stand.

    SmartStone will unveil the eco-friendly stone surface product line alongside the latest product offerings from fellow HVG divisions Alucobond Architectural and HVG Decorative Building Products at the long-running design and architecture event at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre from 22 to 24 April.

    Produced by Santa Margherita from Italy and distributed by SmartStone, Second Life is available in eight colours and is suitable for a wide range of interior building applications.
    Nick Quinn from SmartStone explained, “The product line quite literally gives a second life to natural stone discarded after use in other applications. These materials are recycled by incorporating them in the manufacturing process using the latest technology to produce an engineered stone of high aesthetic beauty and value.”

    Alucobond Architectural’s section of the designEX stand will demonstrate the recently launched Alucobond Photovoltaic façade system and display the new Anodized Look, Wood Design and Spectra colour finishes.

    Alucobond Photovoltaic combines Alucobond aluminium composite panels with functional photovoltaic modules that convert sunlight into electricity. They enable architects and designers to use building facades for sustainable energy generation.

    The stand will also feature a working display of the Terracade Terracotta Facade System for the first time at designEX.

    Bruce Rayment, CEO of Alucobond Architectural said, “Alucobond Architectural was appointed as exclusive distributor of Terracade in Australia, New Zealand and Thailand in January, so designEX 2010 is our first opportunity to showcase the flexibility, individuality and functionality of the brand at a major industry event.”

    HVG Decorative Building Products is set to launch D’Arte Feature Panels, a new printed panel that enables customers to order an existing substrate, such as DIBOND, Zenolite or Seratone, with an innovative surface appearance.

    The Decorative Building Products division will also exhibit the PLEXIGLAS specialty acrylics range, including PLEXIGLAS SATINICE, PLEXIGLAS RADIANT, PLEXIGLAS truLED and PLEXIGLAS EndLighten, for the first time since securing Australian distribution rights for the specialty range in March.
