HP announces the winners of the HP Print Excellence Awards that recognise the best examples of creativity and print quality produced across HP’s digital portfolio.
The global competition recognises print excellence produced on HP digital printing systems in 21 categories across Commercial Print, Sign and Display, and Labels and Packaging applications. Submissions were open to users of HP Indigo, Inkjet Web Press, Scitex and Designjet digital print systems. The competition attracted entries from 364 customers across 47 countries.
The jury of the HP Print Excellence Awards consisted of an international team of experts including Yolanda Simonsis, editorial director PFFC-online, USA; Jean Poncet, editor-in-chief, Etiq & Pack, France; Eric Pierre, creative director, BBDO Paris, France; Stan Kilpin, publisher, Cygnet Publications Pty Ltd, Australia; Boaz Rossano, CEO Video Dubber, Israel; David L Zwang, president, Zwang & Co., USA; Stephen Sonnenfeld, VP advertising & brand integration, Thomson Reuters, USA; Nir Navot, art director, Amdocs Israel; and Sophie Matthews-Paul, independent consultant, UK.
This year’s HP Print Excellence Awards competition received over 290 entries across all award categories from Asia Pacific alone, representing the highest number from a single region.
Winners from the region include Next Printing in Sydney, the first company to install an HP Scitex FB7500 in the state, winning in the Retail POP/POS category while DPOD of Auckland, also an HP Scitex FB7500 user took out first prize in the Innovative Application category.
The jury was impressed with the quality of work produced with HP print technologies. Awards were categorised by device category and application type, and the winners were decided by the judges unanimously after lengthy discussions.
According to Andrew Ng, Marketing Manager, Graphic Solutions Business, HP Asia Pacific and Japan, service providers across Asia Pacific won a total of 18 awards this year, of which seven were first place awards, reflecting the immense creativity and quality of PSPs in the region.
Andrew adds that the high number of submissions received across the various categories not only demonstrates the spread of digital printing globally, but also the service providers’ confidence in HP’s technologies and innovations to deliver a wide range of applications to their customers.
HP will present the awards to winners at a celebratory evening in their honour in Düsseldorf on 3 May. The full list of winners can be viewed on the HP website.
