New Zealand signage and branding company, Rocket Signs won eight awards at the 2011 New Zealand Sign & Display Awards held at Taupo on the north island on 9th April.

Rocket Signs produces all of its signage work excluding glasswork on its two HP Designjet Latex ink printers, the HP Designjet L65500 and L25500 from HP.

The L65500 was installed at the end of 2009 while the L25500 was commissioned in January 2010. Rocket Signs replaced all their solvent printers with the HP Latex ink printers.

Rocket Signs specialises in the design and production of signage for building exteriors, retail spaces, corporate environments and fleet graphics.

The eight awards comprised of multiple silver and bronze medals in various categories including Illuminated Other Than Neon, where Rocket Signs won three awards, and Vehicle Wraps, where it was awarded two medals.

Rocket Signs Managing Director Ross Hall credited the medals haul to HP Latex ink printers.

He said that the versatility of the HP Designjet technology enables them to take on a range of signage jobs with absolute confidence.

HP Latex printers allow the team at Rocket Signs to execute a diverse range of jobs including illuminated signage with consistently good results.

Illuminated signage, according to Hall is particularly difficult when it comes to achieving density and maintaining brightness of colour.

Their three awards in the illumination category prove the superior capabilities of the Designjet Latex ink printers.

Rocket Signs also took out two awards for vehicle wraps that Hall says, were made possible by the HP Latex ink printers, which handled the complex design job efficiently.
