Flooring and wall solutions specialist, Honestone created a simple, stylish and functional polished concrete floor for the onsite bar at the Bluetongue brewery in New South Wales.

One of Australia’s leading boutique beer brands, Bluetongue built a new state-of-the-art facility to keep pace with its fast growth in Warnervale on NSW's Central Coast in 2010. The facility also consists of a ‘cellar door’ style tasting room and bar onsite. Honestone was brought on board to achieve the modern flooring concept that would remain in sync with the Bluetongue brand.

Honestone Director Rick Hendriks said the Bluetongue crew opted for a cream polished concrete floor in a simple grey colour, where the aggregate was not visible on the surface.

Mr Hendriks explains that one needs to be particularly careful with the finish to get an optimum result as the concrete placement has to be done correctly by the contractors prior to the polishing by Honestone.

Honestone then came on site to polish the concrete, and give it a great finish.

Behind the modern bar area, Honestone used a non-slip epoxy to meet Work Health and Safety (WH&S) regulations. The edging, where the floor met the wall, was also curved and seamless to make for easy cleaning.

Carlton United Breweries Bluetongue Brewery Administration Manager Cass O’Neil said that the final look of the ‘cellar door’ bar and entertainment area met their expectations completely. Honestone had also recently provided the finished floor surface to the new reception centre at the Bluetongue site in Warnervale.

Satisfied with the Honestone team’s prompt service, guidance and quality of work, she recommends the company for all flooring needs.

Honestone offers fitting materials for diverse environments including the hospitality industry, manufacturing facilities, shopping centres, commercial spaces, offices and architectural residential projects among others.
