The Artisan Collection of textured paints by Haymes Paint was part of the materials palette selected for a luxury boutique holiday home in the coastal town of Byron Bay in Australia.
A project by The Designory for boutique accommodation business, Barefoot Escapes, the Barefoot Bay Villa is heavily inspired by its coastal environment and features strong contemporary finishes, luxe design elements and natural materials.
The Designory’s director Melissa Bonney chose to work with her favourite brands, including Haymes Paint to create the ultimate luxury Australian home. The Designory “wanted to create a truly special holiday home, one that was full of all the design elements we love, all the luxuries of a high-end hotel and all of the soul of a home”.
The coastlines surrounding Byron Bay provided design inspiration for the Barefoot Bay Villa; key elements such as the raw textures and tones of the green bush, the different sand characteristics, sea foam, rust and warm greys were all brought home through carefully selected materials including Haymes Paint’s textured finishes and contemporary colours.
The use of Haymes Paint’s Artisan Collection of textured products in a coastal palette speaks straight to the Byron Bay coastline. These include the sandy rough surface of Rendercoat from the Artisan Collection and the green bush tones of the kitchen cabinets in Wilderness.
The Designory’s design of the villa establishes a natural connection between the inside and outside.

Featuring 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, the Barefoot Bay Villa has been designed as a great retreat for large groups. Several living rooms are integrated into the design to enable guests to come together. There is plenty of room for entertaining with an open plan kitchen, and dining and living areas all opening up to a gorgeous alfresco space.

Bedrooms
The three bedroom suites are all decorated in their own different styles, which are perfect for rest and rejuvenation. A kid’s room has been provided upstairs.

Image: Bedroom suite 2 is also coated in Modesty White with highlights of green and grey tones. This room reflects the traditional Byron Bay coastline perfectly.
Image: Bedroom suite 3 offers a different colour palette with the use of much darker hues. Ultra Premium Expressions Interior was used on the feature wall in Monument.

The villa’s outdoor space has ample room for BBQs, cheese platters and drinks by the pool. Haymes Ultra Premium Solarshield Exterior in the colour Impact was used on the fence.
