Australia’s major colour forecasting organisation, Colourways, will create an imaginative walk-through installation that is designed to showcase the Colourways 2004 Colour Forecast Palette at designEX COMFIA 2003, to be held at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre from May 8-11, 2003.

Called Percept, the Colourways at designEX installation will explore notions of perception through the experience of the power of colour and its ability to impact on the senses. The relationship of colour, material selection, spatial relationships, surface finish, illumination and sound will create a kaleidoscope of emotion as designers walk through six interlinked rooms. Percept is supported by The Laminex Group , Wattyl and designEX COMFIA.

Percept will be created by three of Melbourne’s leading design professionals: award-winning interior and exhibition designer, Martin Reid; manufacturing and retail colour and design consultant, Judy Dymond; and graphic and new media artist, Mandy Morgan.

“Percept aims to be an experience of colour that will be thought-provoking, intriguing and fun,” said Colourways Director Kathy Demos. “It will inspire designers and illustrate some of the textures and finishes that will be starting to hit the market.”
