GH Commercial provided a custom carpet solution for Four Points by Sheraton in Melbourne’s Docklands to meet the brief to inject ‘local flavour’ into the design and palette of the project.

A standing example of contemporary hotel design, Four Points by Sheraton was shortlisted at the 2018 Australian Interior Design Awards in the Hospitality Design category. Design studio DKO Melbourne sought to introduce a rich material palette into the hotel’s interiors.

Using Designer Jet technology, GH Commercial printed custom carpet designs on two-metre wide sheets for various areas of the chic Melbourne hotel, beginning with the main entrance doors where the carpet is featured as a rug insert in the bar area surrounded by gorgeous marble and rich velvet furnishings. This carpet features a geometric pattern in a neutral colour palette made up of warm grey hues to match its setting.

The geometric pattern continues into the guestroom design where the custom carpet is the hero of the space, with its bold but calming colour choice of layered blues balanced out by crisp white walls and sleek contemporary furnishings.

Maintaining the consistency, the geometric pattern is carried through to the conference rooms and restaurant areas, where a more neutral colour palette of dark and light greys is used to complement the corporate environment.

GH Commercial’s innovative Designer Jet technology allowed these designs to be created locally in a fast and efficient way.
