Specialised tapware from Galvin Engineering was specified for a new purpose-built facility at the Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence (PACE), a world-class research, education, clinical practice and industry precinct in Queensland.

Jointly developed by the University and the whole profession in 2000, the PACE concept aims to establish a leading facility for pharmaceutical research, education and commercialisation. PACE seeks to create a new and unique health and medical precinct, with particular focus on pharmacy and pharmaceutical science.

Designed by Richard Sale of S2F, the new facility houses the UQ School of Pharmacy, the only one in Australia to be co-located with industry in a purpose-built precinct. The tapware needed to address both handwashing and general laboratory use requirements. The tap fittings also needed to be user-friendly when it came to interchanging nozzles and attachments. Additionally, colour coding was required to match the DIN 13792 requirement, so that international students and staff could easily identify the right fixture for their requirement.

Products Specified and Installed:

Galvin’s chrome range of TS Lever Action Surgical Series tapware was colour coded to match the DIN 13792 requirements, and installed along with a series of ProLab bench tapware for research requirements.
