A durable floor from Flowcrete was specified for the new centre at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Park in Durban with the rich orange colour adding a vibrant finish to the site.

Located at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Park, the centre has been designed to convey the teachings of Gandhi and to serve as a tourist attraction as well as a vital space for the inner city Durban area, providing commemorative, educational, historical and heritage benefits.

Flowcrete’s Peran SL Fruity, a glossy, self-smoothing epoxy resin floor finish in Tangerine was used to create the floor in the main rooms and corridors as well as the kitchen area and toilet facilities at the centre, covering a total area of 150 square metres.

The seamless and easy cleaning characteristics of Peran SL met the minimum maintenance design objectives of the centre. Flowcrete’s resin flooring can be quickly washed to keep the area looking fresh and unblemished, helping the centre reduce long-term maintenance and operational costs.

Additionally, Peran SL’s durability means that the floor would retain its aesthetics and functionality for an extended period of time, avoiding the need for frequent repairs or an early refurbishment.
