The purchase of any Fisher and Paykel appliances from Harvey Norman stores nationally throughout the month of March 2007 will see 10% of the sale price go to the Bonnie Babes Foundation to fund vital medical research into miscarriage, premature and still birth in Australia.

The Wiggles are lending their support to ‘Purchase for Research’, appearing in a community service announcement to be televised throughout the campaign, encouraging consumers to purchase goods bearing the Bonnie Babes ‘Purchase for Research’ symbol.

“Fisher & Paykel are the only appliance brand participating in the initiative, and have partnered with Harvey Norman to run this charitable campaign in aid of The Bonnie Babes Foundation,” said Fisher & Paykel marketing manager, Peter Russell.

In addition to the donation, Fisher & Paykel are running a competition for all consumers who purchase their appliances and contribute to the fundraising appeal. 100 Wiggly prizes are up for grabs featuring Wiggles merchandised roller-suit cases and towels. One lucky family from each state will win tickets to a Wiggles concert including backstage passes to meet the colourful fab four.

Sadly more than 50,000 babies die each year in Australia from miscarriage, still birth and prematurity. The reasons for this loss are poorly understood. The Bonnie Babes Foundation is a non-profit organisation offering grief counselling services to affected families and also raise funds to assist vital medical research projects which aim to reduce the staggering statistics of one in four pregnancies ending in a loss.
