Equitone's Tectiva through-coloured fibre cement panels distributed by Fairview were specified for the façade of the sustainably designed Habitat development in Byron Bay, NSW.
The purpose-built 12.5-acre mixed-use village designed by architect Dominic Finlay Jones comprises of six commercial buildings along with a residential section. The eco-friendly development is designed to passively control thermal loads and maximise cross ventilation, and also includes numerous active environmental systems.
Equitone Tectiva’s proven rain-screen system deflects rain and heat, with the ventilation space allowing air to circulate behind the panels, to create comfort for occupants while eliminating condensation and mould growth.
The natural hue and raw texture unique to each through-coloured façade panel complement the sustainable development; the façade panels also provide a non-combustible solution as well as longevity exceeding 50 years, thus reducing the need for replacement.
