Sonapanel plywood from FA Mitchell and Co is an Australian grown and processed plywood that provides multiple benefits, including termite resistance, fire retardant properties and acoustic insulation.

The perforation system used in Sonapanel allows the plywood to achieve between 2.75% up to 39% of surface acoustic loss. FA Mitchell and Co perforate from 4 mm to 18 mm thickness using the latest scribe and auger for precise clean shoulder cutting.

Sonapanel perforations can be machined to either square, diamond or slot shapes as required, with variation of borders available to suit the desired decor. FA Mitchell and Co currently stock the Public Works Department standard requirement of 4.5 hole at 12 mm centres in 9mm (which equals to a 10% open area).

Sonapanel's unique treatment process eliminates surface residue and discolouring leaving an excellent surface for a clear finish, lime wash painting or staining.

Each sheet is stamped on the back to identify it's treatment and "A Certificate of Fire Retardancy" is issued on completion for the particular project. The process is certified by C.S.I.R.O. to AS 1530 Part 3 standards which provides for a Spread of Flame Index of 0 (0-10) and a Smoke Developed Index of 3 (0-10).

Sonapanel from FA Mitchell and Co is also termite resistant to comply with AS1604 building standards.
