Low height adjustable decking supports from the Elmich SpiraPave range were specified for the roof terrace and winter garden at the iconic 1 Bligh Street building in Sydney.

Architectus (Sydney) collaborated with Ingenhoven Architects (Germany) on the 1 Bligh Street project, combining leading edge design, technology and sustainability in one of the world’s most enviable locations.

Two unique features stand out in the building’s design: At the halfway point, a 6-metre high winter garden offers views over Sydney Harbour, and has the versatility to be used as a cafeteria, rest space or gym. The screened roof terrace features a 700-square-metre decked area, also with a priceless vista and flexibility for multifunctional use.

The decking planned for both areas required a decking support solution that did not penetrate the membrane, was height adjustable, and would compensate for the fall on the concrete.

Architectus specified Elmich SpiraPave adjustable decking supports for their versatility, stability and ease of use with spiralling steps allowing millimetre adjustments. The minimum height of 17mm makes decking feasible even in the tightest of building spaces.
