Dulux has announced four top names in the Australian and New Zealand design industries as part of the 2012 Dulux Colour Awards judging panel.

The judging panels boasts an impressive collective knowledge and experience in colour and design, with the line up including award winning architect, Peter Maddison, the talented colour guru at Colourways, Kim Chadwick, and the creative stylist and founder of Design Files, Lucy Feagins.

Jeff Fearon, a principal and co-founder of the award winning Auckland-based architectural practice, Fearon Hay, debuts as the first New Zealand judge on the Dulux Colour Awards judging panel.

Andrea Lucena-Orr, Dulux Colour and Communications Manager, explained that the 2012 judging panel is a ’star studded’ team made up of some big names in the architecture and design industry.

“This judging panel is second to none. Peter, Kim, Lucy and Jeff are individuals who are held in high esteem by the architecture and design industry, who collectively will bring a wealth of experience and industry knowledge to the Awards,” said Andrea.

“With a panel such as this, we anticipate a high calibre of entries from interior designers, architects and upcoming design and architecture students seeking to have their projects recognised and celebrated in this year’s Awards.”

“We are very excited to have Jeff join the judging panel with his valuable insights from a New Zealand perspective. Last year, we had an amazing range of projects from New Zealand professionals and are looking forward to even more entries from New Zealand architects and designers for the second year,” said Andrea.

The 2012 Dulux Colour Award judging panel includes:

Kim Chadwick - Director Blend Colour Marketing and Design Pty Ltd and Managing Consultant Colourways
Lucy Feagins - Stylist and Editor of The Design Files

All 2012 entrants will be shortlisted and judged by an internal panel led by Dulux’s resident colour aficionado, Andrea Lucena-Orr, before being reviewed by the 2012 Dulux Colour Awards judging panel.

The Dulux Colour Awards are now in their 26th year, recognising and celebrating the exceptional and inspired use of colour in architecture and interior design.

Award entries are now open and will run until the 10th February 2012 with projects being judged across eight categories:

  • Multi Residential Interior
  • Single Residential Exterior
  • Multi Residential Exterior
  • Sustainable Interior
  • Student
