Corinthian Doors  supply Fire Rated Doors to the commercial market that are constructed using the highest quality materials, and have hourly ratings of one, two, three, and four hours.

One hour fire rated doors are most commonly used in residential apartments where smoke and draft control is required. These fire rated doors are manufactured using a core called ‘Pandor’ Core and are either 30mm (2 sheets x 15mm) or 38mm (2 sheets x 19mm) gridded core. Pandor core can be described as MDF. Ply skins may also be used and veneered versions of both are available.

Two hour fire rated doors are commonly located in vertical spaces, such as stairwells in shopping centres, schools, and public buildings that have the potential risk of fire from within. These fire rated doors are manufactured using a mineral based core called ‘FR’ Core and are either 30mm (2 sheets x 15mm) or 38mm (2 sheets x 19mm). Ply skins and veneered ply may only be used.

Three and four hour fire rated doors are usually found in walls that separate buildings or divide a building into smaller fire areas, such as a hospital. These fire rated doors are manufactured the same as the two hour fire rated doors but the skin is treated with ‘salt wash’ to achieve the extra rating. Salt wash is used as a fire-prevention agent for timber doors. Ply skins may only be used.

Corinthian Doors have the ability to route fire doors, making them ideal for apartments to match other internal doors. Glazing can also be included where some vision is required.

Corinthian offers the complete solution including timber fire door frames, double action fire doors, metal clad doors, bolection moulds, seals and Intumescent air grills that soften and expand to seal and maintain the fire resistance level of the door.

Fire rated doors are available in mini (38mm thick) and maxi (46mm thick), single leaf or maxi pairs.

All fire rated doors will only be certified fire rated when they are installed correctly, incorporate approved hardware, are self-closing, self-latching and fitted into a tested and approved wall system.

All fire rated doors are independently tested by BRANZ and certified to Australian Standards.
