Passport PVC decking from Composite Materials Australia is resistant to chlorine and salt water environments, meaning it is ideal for pool and spa surrounds.

Made from 100% cellular PVC and installed using stainless steel fixings, Passport decking is covered by a 25 year warranty.

Unlike composite decking materials, Passport contains no wood fibre which makes it extremely fade resistant. The results of a 10 year accelerated weathering test demonstrated that Passport Decking showed a minimal Delta 2 colour shift. This is not visible to the naked eye.

In a recent installation the owners needed a durable material that would stand up to the harsh Australian sun for around the spa. They selected Passport PVC decking in Moroccan Cedar colour as it was a perfect match for the Cedar lined spa.

Using the long 6.1m lengths of decking board the area had no joins and off-cuts were used to make some handy storage bench seats and a little bench/table.

PVC material can be produced with a testable slip resistance and an important issue around any wet areas is slip resistance. Passport PVC decking is supplied with a "Static Coefficient of Fiction" 0.64 dry and 0.86 wet, the higher the number the greater the slip resistance. Australian Standard 4586 has five slip resistance categories and the highest category states anything greater than 0.54 is considered a "Very Low" risk of slippage.

The owners will enjoy their new spa with peace of mind with the high stain resistance, high fade resistance, high slip resistance and 25 year warranty.

State distributors can organise supply of Passport decking for DIY jobs and can recommend qualified installers.
