Two products from Cemintel® were specified for a new building constructed for St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School to accommodate their growing number of students.

Under pressure to find space for their students, the school sought to expand their facilities with a brand new building. They also wanted a bold design to inspire and encourage young minds.

Cemintel’s products were specified by the architect, GROUPN Architecture to address the requirements of the design brief. Barestone, a pre-finished exterior façade with the look of raw cement was used with ExpressWall, which combines excellent performance with ease of installation. Applied externally to the new building, the clean lines and modern industrial aesthetic reflect the school’s contemporary thinking, innovation and creativity.

The use of Barestone panels on the exterior facade not only minimised installation time, allowing students and teachers to enjoy the new building sooner, but also delivered a stunning, yet practical finish that reduced ongoing maintenance.

Lauren Honey, Project Design Coordinator, GROUPN Architecture:

“Barestone’s raw appearance and pre-finished panels helped the building to quickly come to life, creating a beautiful learning space. As it’s durable and doesn’t need to be painted, the cladding is perfect for the wear and tear of a busy school. It’s loved by the entire school community – students, parents and staff all comment on how great it looks.”
