Available from CASF Australia , Corian Burled Beach was recently used by Morris Selvatica Design Studio for the new Indian food retailer, 9 Mary’s, at Sydney Westfield’s level 5 food court.

Specialising in retail and hospitality interiors, Morris Selvatica was the Winner Edition 2 – Commercial Category at the 2011 Corian Design Awards for this project.

The design objective for this project was to create a contemporary look inspired by traditional Indian patterns, colours and architecture. Decorative terracotta wall friezes inspired the menu boards while the Corian benchtop was laser cut into the shape of Indian temples.

The original choice of a stone benchtop would have been too difficult to cut into the desired shape, so Morris Selvatico specified DuPont Corian as it could be laser cut and formed to match the curved lease line.

The endless design possibilities of Corian ensured the design team achieved their desired solution, and most importantly, the client’s.

According to Alexandra Morris, “Corian Burled Beach was the perfect material to achieve an intricate laser cut pattern while maintaining a completely seamless look along a 14 metre radius curved bench top surface”

Corian would like to congratulate the Morris Selvatico team for the striking and creative award winning design.
