24 Hour Kitchen: Commercial

Corian Colours: Designer White

For the 2019 Fuorisalone in Milan, 2 x 4 partnered with Samsung to produce the ’24 Hour Kitchen’, celebrating the centrality of the kitchen in everyday life. Comprising of three abstracted kitchens with three distinct environments – morning, day and evening – the design featured a 60m long continuously-seamed Corian counter that was lightly supported off the floor, above the floor at counter height and overhead at the ceiling, and self-supporting between these transitions.

Liskowski Architects: Residential

Corian Colours: Glacier White

Designed by Laurie Liskowski of Liskowski Architects, this kitchen featured a Corian benchtop; the material was chosen for its robustness as well as its aesthetic appearance and ability to create elegant curves.

The Corian benchtop is set apart from the cupboards underneath by a black 12mm shadow line as the kitchen is white with black horizontal highlights, both in the joinery and the ceiling light shelf bounding the entire space.

The curved edge quasi waterfall style gives an elegant touch to the kitchen bench and highlights the thinness of the material, like a cloth draped over the cupboards.
