Leading solid surface brand Corian was specified for various cladding applications at the Canberra shopping centre.

Corian products were selected for the internal refurbishment at the Canberra Centre Food Court, with the application highlighting the sculptural cladding attributes of the brand. Designed by Cox Architecture in association with MBBD and Seventh Wave, the revamped food court at Canberra’s premier shopping centre has 10 new food outlets, along with a more upmarket ambiance.

The refurbished section of the food court offers free Wi-Fi connectivity, an increase in seating capacity from 470 to 860, marble tabletops, subdued lighting, a vertical garden and Corian bench seating around the perimeter divider walls.

Corian Glacier Ice wall panelling was back-engraved and backlit to create the feature divider walls. The ceiling has been decorated with handmade lights and wooden pieces to assist with the acoustics. Glacier White Corian has been used on the circular columns to ensure an easily maintained, yet robust surface for this busy area.

Widely used in retail environments, Corian decorative surfacing is available from CASF Australia.
