Having survived flooding in and around its locations, Carter Holt Harvey Woodproducts is pleased to advise that it is back into operation with its Queensland timber, particleboard and distribution facilities.
Thanks to the good work of employees, the company’s assets were largely protected, and more importantly all employees were safe and were kept accounted for during this natural disaster. Some damage and stock losses have occurred at sites but they have returned to production and despatch capability.
The significant level of road infrastructure that has been affected has created transport issues both to and from Queensland. Carter Holt Harvey’s plants in other states have been able to maintain some supply over this period, as access has allowed, and advises they will continue to do this into the future. As more roads become passable the business will be better able to meet customers’ needs across the State.
As Queensland begins the extensive and difficult re-build process, Carter Holt Harvey will be well positioned to cover demand in excess of local production capabilities from its multiple southern manufacturing sites.
They will continue to work with local communities and its customers as the effects of this disaster are assessed and as the rebuilding program occurs.
