Commercial plumbers helped Caroma raise over $13,000 for Red Cross at a recent charity golf event.

The plumbers who are also loyal followers of Caroma bathroomware helped raise $13,025 for Caroma’s philanthropic partner, Red Cross at the 14th Annual Caroma Accredited Research Customer (CARC) State Golf Challenge, held on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in March 2011.

All funds will be directed to the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Program, assisting people and families impacted during the nation’s summer of natural disasters, including the Queensland floods and Cyclone Yasi in northern Queensland.

CARC representative Craig Lagerroth and Caroma State Manager, Queensland, Steve McDonald presented the cheque to Red Cross Queensland Executive Director Greg Goebel.

According to Ms Deborah Evans, Marketing Manager for Caroma, the CARC event enables the company to work together with their customers to help improve the lives of people in need.

The special fundraiser event is one of many upcoming projects that have been lined up for Caroma’s charity program, ‘I Love my Bathroom’, which was launched with the Australian Red Cross on World Toilet Day in November 2010.

Thanking Caroma and the charity golf day participants for their generous support, Mr Goebel said that the funds will be used as part of the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Program to help the affected people and their families recover and get back on their feet.

Caroma is an Australian Red Cross National Community Partner. Since its creation in November 2010, Caroma’s I Love My Bathroom program has raised approximately $115,000 for various Red Cross programs in Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
