Residential building industry members swing into action for the HIA Charitable Foundation

    Bristile Roofing

The Bristile Roofing sponsored inaugural HIA Charitable Foundation Golf Day, supported by residential building industry members helped raise $10,000 for the HIA Charitable Foundation.

Held at the spectacular Hope Island Golf Links in Queensland recently, the HIA Charitable Foundation Golf Day attracted 112 players to support the Foundation’s designated charity programs and building initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of those in the building industry in addition to addressing the homelessness issue.

While helping raise these essential funds, golfers at the event had a chance to win a trip to Spain by hitting a hole-in-one on a preselected hole, thanks to Bristile Roofing and their new range of La Escandella European terracotta roof tiles.

Players were also treated to a special visit from cricket legend Jeff Thomson, who joined each team at the event for a hit and shared his experiences on the cricket pitch.

The Altec team was named the overall winner on the day, claiming the best net score and the Queensland HIA Executive team came in a close second.

Commenting on the event, Marketing Coordinator at Bristile Roofing Mr Michael Monro stated that the HIA Charitable Golf Day generated plenty of buzz within the building industry and presented an excellent opportunity to network, while supporting some very worthy causes.

The HIA Charitable Foundation aims to unite the residential building industry in support of a range of charitable initiatives. An important component of the Foundation’s support is funding research focused on improving the health and wellbeing of those in the residential building industry. The National Centre for Asbestos Related Diseases (NCARD) is a recipient of the Foundation’s support.

The HIA Charitable Foundation is also helping to reduce the incidence of homelessness by harnessing the skills and resources of the industry and donating essential funds to provide shelter for those living on the streets.

Mr Monro adds that Bristile Roofing is honoured to be a major sponsor of the inaugural HIA Charitable Foundation Golf Day.

The Foundation also launched their latest fundraising campaign, the National Battle of the Builders at the HIA Charitable Golf Day. Proudly supported by Bristile Roofing, the campaign asks companies to register their corporate Golf Day with the Foundation, which in turn offers a range of options to support the event and allows participants to raise funds.
