Breezway Altair louvre windows were integrated into the design of the Inverted Abode home in Mackay, North Queensland to encourage natural air flow and provide a sense of spaciousness.

Aligned with ‘Easy Living’ design principles, Inverted Abode promotes the idea of space and separation for family members while allowing good interaction within the common spaces.

A Tempus Design Studio project, the family home features a striking facade that sets it apart from other properties in the neighbourhood. The stunning inverted truss entry portico appears to float, only supported by steel columns protruding from the walls beneath.

Set on an angular section of land, which also forms the basis of the built form, the home may appear quite modest from the street but develops into a spacious layout with a raked ceiling to create volume. The home also uses modern low maintenance products.

Building Designer Tamica Lewis specified Altair louvre windows by Breezway to assist with the flow of natural air throughout this tropical North Queensland home while helping provide the sense of spaciousness desired by the family.
