Altair louvre windows from Breezway were installed at a clinker brick split level beach house on Palm Beach, Sydney. The extensive renovations carried out on the 1970s house left only the external walls intact from the original construction.

Architect Edwina Hunt of Annabelle Chapman Architect brought the kitchen from its rear courtyard location to the upper floor to maximise the breath-taking views north over Palm Beach for the owners, while the deck was extended with frameless glass balustrading to also capture and make the most of the outdoor views.

Applying the design principles of indoor-outdoor living, the upper level and ground floor living spaces have large timber and glass sliding doors to help create wide openings and assist with a seamless inside/outside flow.

Altair louvre windows were installed to allow good ventilation into the house. In addition to providing a safe and easy-to-clean solution to the residents of the multi-level house, the louvre windows also serve as an excellent sound barrier when closed.
