Thomas and Michelle Snashel of Marrickville have been announced as the winners of the Rawson Homes and COLORBOND steel competition to win $15,000 in prizes including a three hour consultation with top interior stylist Sibella Court.

The competition ran from July to September 2010 and was open to all new home buyers who purchased a new home with Rawson Homes and selected a roof made from COLORBOND steel.

The Snashels entered the competition twice in a unique partnership between the two companies. In a lucky turn of events their second entry, which was submitted as a result of choosing to install a roof made from COLORBOND steel, was the one that sealed the deal for their win.

The Snashels have won a Westfield XS debit card which can be used anywhere EFTPOS is accepted, in conjunction with the three hour consultation with Sibella Court and a voucher to transport all their newly acquired purchases back home to Marrickville. The Snashels met with Sibella Court as well as representatives from Rawson Homes and BlueScope Steel at the Rawson Homes head office in Homebush to receive their prize.

The Snashels commented on their win saying, “We are delighted to win this unique competition! Our plan is to knock down our existing home in Matraville and rebuild a new Rawson Homes home with a roof made from COLORBOND steel. The strength and durability of roofing made from COLORBOND steel was a deciding factor when choosing the material for our roof as was the modern aesthetic.”

Sibella Court is a leading interior stylist who has worked on numerous advertising campaigns, catalogues and is a regular contributor to Grazia magazine. Court was recently featured in Vogue Living in regards to her work with the Merivale group.

Rawson Homes has more than 30 years of home building experience and a host of coveted awards. Their homes are designed to meet the lifestyle needs of families and feature a wide range of included luxury fittings and fixtures. There are more than 40 different home designs to choose from with a selection of facades and colour palettes for design flexibility.

Peter Rawson commented on the collaboration with COLORBOND steel, “We have thoroughly enjoyed the response to the joint promotion we undertook with COLORBOND steeland to see such happy winners as Thomas and Michelle makes you appreciate how much this type of prize can make someone’s experience in what we do all the better. Working with COLORBOND steeland Sibella on this has been a joy and we look forward to the year ahead in our future with both parties on board to make the Rawson Homes ethos all the stronger in providing clients with an experience that exceeds their expectations.”

Roofing made from COLORBOND steel offers design flexibility for roof shapes and sizes, creating clearly defined attractive roof lines that work well with traditional home styles, contemporary designs and everything in between. It also has a superior oven-baked finish that resists chipping, peeling and cracking.

All standard COLORBOND steel roofs now incorporate new Thermatech technology which works by reflecting more of the sun’s heat in summer, creating a cooler roof and more comfortable home when used with standard levels of insulation. This means less work for the air conditioning in the summer, which is good news for energy bills and the climate.
