Bent and Curved Glass acoustic glazing used for GPT Group head office fitout

    Bent and Curved Glass

Bent and Curved Glass acoustic glazing was recently used for the dynamic new GPT Group head office fitout, designed by Woods Bagot.

The architects proposed the removal of the existing floor structures through levels 50, 51 and 52 of the MLC Centre Building in Sydney to create an atrium void that will connect the entire scheme.

The main challenge was meeting the required acoustic privacy for the various meeting rooms located off and within this common use zone.

With its acoustic glazing solutions, BCG was able to offer the desired acoustic performance while enhancing and softening the spatial flow; a critical part of  the architects vision for the project.

Glass was specified as the ideal material to provide shared light and views within the space and also outwards to the view of the city skyline.

To achieve the required sound reduction levels, BCG produced a combination of tight radius and more generous flowing curves and incorporating an acoustic rated interlayer.

The completed project lives up to the GPT Group's aspiration to “create and sustain environments that enrich peoples lives in the properties that the group owns, manages and develops throughout Australia.”
