Axalta Coating Systems (Australia) Pty Ltd announces that its leading refinish coating brand Standox has introduced alphanumeric codes for the majority of its products.

To be displayed on the labels, the short codes will show product information more clearly when electronic Colour Tools are used. The new codes consist of an abbreviation of the product category in combination with a four-digit number to achieve further differentiation, clearly distinguishing between the categories Substrate (U), Clearcoat (K) and Clearcoat Additive (KA). The codes for mixing tints remain unchanged.

Standox Product and Colour Manager John Nettleton explains that the new product codes allow them to improve the information displayed on their Acquire and AcquirePlusEFX spectrophotometers and on the StandowiniQ electronic search programme.

Previously, the length of the product description didn’t allow them to display it fully on the label. However, feedback from their partner bodyshops convinced the company about the need to provide for a clearer display that would ease the selection of ready-for-use products using digital Colour Tools. Bodyshops can use Standox’s digital Colour Tools for more convenience.

The new codes will appear on Standox labels under the product name, and will be integrated into the Standox Colour Tools Acquire, AcquirePlusEFX and StandowiniQ.

Standox refinish coating products are available from Axalta Coating Systems, Europe’s leading automotive refinish brand.
