ATO extends due date for Taxable payments annual report to 28 August

    Australian Taxation Office

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has extended the due date for lodging the Taxable payments annual report by businesses in the building and construction industry to 28 August.

Applicable from this year onwards, the due date extension has been facilitated by the ATO in response to concerns expressed by the building and construction industry about difficulties in lodging the Taxable payments annual report on time.

The Taxable payments annual report summarises the total payments made by businesses to each contractor for building and construction services. Building and construction services include architectural work (including drafting and design), certification, decorating (including painting), engineering, landscaping and construction, project management and surveying.

Companies using business software to generate the annual report can simplify the process by lodging online. Scan the QR code to view a short video that describes the online process or visit ato.gov.au/tpr.

More information is available at ato.gov.au/taxablepaymentsreporting.
