Australian Pump Industries opened early after a shortened summer
vacation with the staff back on deck to provide support for customers facing an
escalating bushfire risk around the country.
Aussie Pump’s Brad Farrugia explained that their staff reported back
early to ensure continued support to farmers, dealers and firefighting
authorities, given the conditions with temperatures hovering around 40 degrees
and catastrophic fires in Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria.
The introduction of the Aussie Fire Chief almost 20 years ago changed
the market’s perception of the performance and longevity of portable lightweight
fire pumps. Having gone through a number of enhancements since then, Aussie
fire pumps are highly appreciated across the world today with the Fire Chief
being shipped to North America, Europe, South East Asia and Africa.
The Aussie Fire Chief is the only portable high pressure fire pump in
the world that comes with a 5-year warranty, indicating the company’s
confidence in the product and in the top quality engineering that led to its
development.
Most of the Aussie Pump staff reported for duty on the 5th of January
2015 in response to the extreme fire conditions around the country, with large
sections of Eastern New South Wales, Western Victoria, Southern Queensland,
Western Australia and South Australia exceeding normal potential for major
fires.
According to Farrugia, the necessity for property owners to take
precautions before the fire hits cannot be underestimated; Aussie Pump
therefore, ensured their ‘Aussie Fire Smart Survival Guide’ was freely
available to users. The guide emphasises the many facets of bushfire preparation
including both livestock and crop protection issues.
Aussie Pump’s Honda-powered firefighting pump range, based on the Aussie
Fire Chief concept extends right up to big twin impeller pumps running off 13hp
Honda petrol engines and meeting the higher performance requirements of professional
users with large applications. Electric start options help users start the pump
quickly in an emergency. The company also offers a full range of heavy duty
diesel drive fire pumps from 4.8hp right up to the heavy duty Brigade Boss
Series.
Free documentation available on the Aussie Pump range include the Fire
Smart Survival Guide and a handy Fire Pump Selection data sheet that shows how
to make sure the right pump is selected for the consumer’s individual bushfire
protection requirements.
