Some of the most creative architectural projects from the Northern Territory will be competing for top honours at the 2011 NT Architectural Awards organised by the Australian Institute of Architects.

Ten new projects across four design categories are in the running for the architectural awards. The architectural design categories include Public Architecture, Residential Architecture, Interior Architecture and Small Projects Architecture.

The projects vying for the architecture design awards and commendations range from inspiring public educational buildings to small, modest private family homes and even include a library and a police station.

NT Chapter President Richard Layton will announce the winners at a special awards ceremony at the Gardens Park Golf Links, Gardens Road, The Gardens.

All NT Architectural Awards recipients automatically qualify for the prestigious 2011 National Architecture Awards being held at Hobart on Thursday 3 November later this year.
