Austral Bricks have built a 1250 brick, 5m x 5m, brick wall tribute to Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. The life-like mural of Jackson has been built at the company’s Ballarat plant using highly glazed bricks from both the Burlesque and Dynasty ranges. The mural took two days to build.
Brett Ward, Brickworks national marketing manager, says as well as being a tribute, the mural demonstrates the versatility and contemporary nature of what can be achieved with bricks.
The Burlesque bricks used in the mural are available in a range of bold colours not normally associated with bricks, including green, yellow, white, red, blue and black. The Dynasty glazed bricks are also available in five dynamic colours.
Brett said that he hopes the mural will inspire architects and designers to create stylish, contemporary feature panels in buildings.
Austral Bricks have display centres at Horsley Park, Bowral, Albion Park, Punchbowl, Fyshwick ACT, Newcastle, Tuggerah and Port Macquarie.
