Ausco Modular  is a provider of modular accommodation and it has secured 26,200 square metres of land in Karratha to develop a 250 room Stayover village, helping to ease the shortage of accommodation within the Pilbara region.

The village will be conveniently located close to all Karratha facilities and access to major arterial routes.

The Stayover village has been designed as the home away from home with its own entertainment facilities, bar, gym and catered meals. The intimate nature of the village and native landscaping will provide an environment to relax and rejuvenate the perfect retreat after a long days work.

“The Stayover village will offer workers within the region high quality amenities and well appointed rooms by the night, with a high level of resident services. The residents will enjoy internet access within their rooms as well as the provision of high quality meals,” said Bob McGovern, Ausco Modular’s regional manager for WA.

Environmental sustainability has been a key design consideration for the village and the rooms. All water will be treated and recycled for irrigation on-site and the buildings exceed the current energy efficiency requirements as per the Building Code of Australia.

Stage 1 (173 rooms) of the village is planned to open in the second quarter of 2008 with Stage 2 completing the village, following 3 to 4 months later. The rooms are currently being manufactured in Ausco Modular’s Perth factory.
