Assa Abloy Hospitality supplied a flexible wireless security solution for the guest rooms at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel Berlin as well as the independent office floors located in the same building.

The first Waldorf Astoria to be opened in Europe, the Waldorf Astoria Hotel Berlin was built close to the famous Kurfürstendamm (Ku’damm) shopping street in the former western part of Berlin. Waldorf Astoria Hotel Berlin occupies the first 15 floors of a 33-floor building called ‘Zoofenster’, and has 242 luxury rooms.

The brief for Assa Abloy was to provide a secure solution for the hotel floors and the independent office floors, also located in the Zoofenster building. The hotel guest rooms and offices, though separate entities, needed to be secured through a single lock control management system.

The hotel uses VingCard Visionline with convenient interfaces to its property management system, ensuring a silent and smooth operation. The office floors are rented out by the owner of the building to different companies, and VingCard Visionline manages this commercial environment with its high security requirements.

VingCard Visionline was the perfect solution for securing this environment as it offered maximum flexibility in accommodating the needs of different customers. The wireless security solution from Assa Abloy additionally helped the customer avoid hard-wire cabling, resulting in quick and efficient installation.
