ASSA ABLOY’s icon brand, Lockwood , is preparing to launch the newest addition to its Aquileart range, offering design-conscious consumers a new option in interior locking solutions.
The Aquileart Shareen Joel Collection, designed by well known interior and industrial designer, Shareen Joel, and developed by Lockwood to appeal to high end residential and commercial markets, combines a high level design aesthetic with the latest in manufacturing technology.
Minimalist, subtle and streamlined, the Shareen Joel Collection comprises the Integri and Strato lines of contemporary door furniture and accessories and complements the cleaner lines and pleasing textures of modern interiors.
“Consumers are becoming more demanding and more design-conscious – even with products that have long been regarded as purely utilitarian items,” Joel says. “As a designer, I wanted to produce an elegant lever that was viable to produce.”
The collection, which creatively combines man-made materials with natural timbers in a stylish form, is a result of that desire.
The Shareen Joel Collection is the second in the Aquileart range, joining the award-winning, architect-designed Robert Watson Collection.
Lockwood is previewing the new line of levers at the official opening of the company’s $16 million manufacturing site redevelopment in Melbourne.
ASSA ABLOY ‘s General Manager, Commercial Division (Australia), Tom Devine, says that the new development and centre for design excellence would allow the continued design and development of premium commercial security products.
“The new facility will contribute to the company’s continued global success and build export opportunities,” Devine said. “We are committed to the ongoing development of innovative technology and the Shareen Joel range is a perfect example of that commitment.”
