The new induction cooktop from ASKO Appliances (Australia) makes a simple but stylish statement in minimalism with a matte finish that blends into almost any kitchen design.

The popularity of glossy finishes is wearing off with the latest kitchen design trends headed back to minimalism. With induction cooking really taking off as an alternative to gas, ASKO has responded to new market demands with a smart new cooktop featuring a sophisticated matte finish.

The matte black glass induction cooktop includes a brushed pattern screening, and combines the stylish look with superior scratch resistant and fingerprint resistant surfaces, which are also very easy to clean.

ASKO Marketing Director James Vogdanos explains that pots and pans don’t need to be held in place with the anti-slip surface allowing users to whisk sauces in two different saucepans simultaneously, without the risk of having them move around the cooktop.

Induction cooking additionally offers a safer option with the cooktop only heating the surface area that is actually being used, while the rest of the cooktop is cool enough to touch. Safety features also include automatic switch off when the temperature reaches 300 degrees Celsius or is left on for nine continuous hours.

Interior designer Shaynna Blaze has observed a definite shift towards matte finishes in kitchen design. Noting that the available selections were earlier limited to shiny and glossy looks, she said the option of matte finishes has now taken off in a big way with simplicity trending in kitchen design. She adds that there’s a significant change in kitchen interiors with a lot of designs incorporating matte bench tops, tiles and doors; having a cooktop to match gives the kitchen that sleek designer edge.

ASKO’s matte induction cooktops feature six Auto Programs that indicate when correct temperatures are reached, ensuring the right temperature is maintained when boiling, frying, simmering, grilling or keeping food warm.

Part of the new ASKO Pro Series collection, the matte glass induction cooktops are available in 64cm or 90cm dual bridge options.
