Aodeli Australia has been chosen to supply their façade cladding panels for the brand new HOTA (Home Of The Arts) gallery being built in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland. The Queensland-based façade cladding manufacturer has been selected alongside fellow local cladding installer, Cladding Creations to be part of the town’s iconic construction project.
Designed by ARM Architecture, and currently under construction by Hansen Yuncken, the new HOTA Gallery is scheduled to open in 2021 and is expected to become a must-see cultural destination.
Aodeli’s popular cladding solution, SAP, a 3mm solid aluminium panel made of 5052 H32 marine grade aluminium was chosen by the architects for the exterior façade.
A proven fire-safe cladding solution that can also stand up to Queensland’s harsh weather and climate, SAP aluminium façade panels will be supplied in custom finishes. Aodeli worked closely with ARM Architecture to develop 11 custom-matched finishes for the distinctive 3D Voronoi design – a cellular-looking web that will be laid over the entire HOTA site and then clad with the distinctive SAP custom coloured panels.
The façade panels will be installed by Cladding Creations in various shapes and sizes to achieve ARM Architecture’s design for the gallery’s exterior.
“This project is an exciting challenge for our team. To ensure that everything runs smoothly we have worked with Aodeli on a delivery schedule that ensures that we have only the specific panels we require on site at any given time. This project is much more than installing one finish at a time,” explained Damian Popovic from Cladding Creations.
Aodeli general manager Wayne Saunders added, “It is a pleasure to be part of this iconic construction project right on our doorstep. We look forward to seeing the façade come to life and especially to see the 11 custom finishes working together in stunning harmony to bring the Voronoi to life.”
