Ambrose Art  was founded by Mike Ambrose, a Queensland commercial artist in Australia. Mike undertakes singular projects of art, including works of murals and mosaics. His artistic talent helped win him the tender of a three year project painting the ceiling of a five star heritage train, the Great South Pacific Express.

Mike also undertook another notable assignment in executing a design by John Olsen ‘lilypond’ onto the mosaic floor of the Brisbane Convention Centre foyer. This is the largest mosaic in the Southern Hemisphere.

Mike also collaborated with designer Michael Bryce in producing the Bond University coat-of-arms. Mike’s artistry has decorated the posters, books and walls of various exhibitions, conventions, expo projects and design commissions including the Japan Expo and World Print Expo, New York.

Having completed his faculty in Commercial Illustration and Design, Mike is possessed with a love for fine art. Mike applies acrylics using an air brush and fine detail brushwork to create his paintings in mixed media. Mike has also had the honour of working under Carl Barks, creator of Donald Duck, in Hollywood, USA on a Walt Disney Limited Edition book, entitled ‘The Life and Times of Uncle Scrooge McDuck,’ a twelve month project.
