Australia’s leading specialist in tiles and paving products, Amber Tiles is celebrating its 40th anniversary this month.
To mark the milestone, the Australian-owned and operated franchise brand has followed up its reinvigorated marketing strategy and brand creative implemented in early 2013 with a series of new advertisements, in-store decorations and special offers for customers.
Opening its first store at Waitara in Sydney in 1973, Amber has expanded its network to 27 franchise stores now operating across NSW, ACT and QLD, continuing to position itself as a trusted and prominent supplier in the Australian renovation industry by consistently delivering high-quality products and customer service.
Amber Managing Director, Phil Crawford says he is incredibly proud of the brand’s past and present success and has higher hopes for the future.
Underlining the importance of well-established channels of communication and a strong support network to the success of any franchise operation, Phil expressed his confidence that Amber will continue to flourish during the next 40 years.
Greg Lynch, Amber’s current Business Development Manager, was originally employed as a sales assistant at Amber Liverpool in 1989 and has been working within the Amber group ever since.
Greg explains Amber’s main point of difference, which has allowed the business to grow so successfully, is their unique position in the market as an Australian company that effectively sells tiles and pavers under the same roof. Amber prides itself in staying ahead of the market by continually monitoring local and international products and trends and sourcing the best products at fantastic value to ultimately provide their customers what they want.
Mike Barden, Amber’s resident outdoor and paving specialist was originally employed as Amber Seaforth manager and co-owner in 1985.
According to Mike, there were only five operating Amber stores when he first started and the product range was relatively small and simple. Throughout the 1980s, the memorable Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble advertisement defined the Amber brand and was an absolute hit.
Leaving the Seaforth store in 1991, Mike returned to Amber’s Support Office ten years later in 2002 and found the office had changed from a small warehouse that mainly sold slate, terracotta and quarry tiles, into a massive warehouse that stocked an extensive range of the latest tiles and paving products.
Throughout September, Amber will feature 40th birthday television commercials on Free To Air networks in metro and regional areas (16-28 September); promote their 40th birthday online and with in-store birthday decorations and POS; and offer 40th birthday specials throughout all stores in NSW, ACT and QLD.
After 40 years of offering customers indoor and outdoor solutions to suit any home or personal style, Amber remains Australia’s leading supplier of high-quality tiles, pavers and stone products.
