    Amber enters engineered flooring market

    Amber Group Australia

ile and paver specialist Amber has extended its hard flooring range to incorporate a new range of engineered and laminate timber floors specifically designed to reduce installation times and offer superior wear qualities.

The engineered flooring comes in a selection of hardwoods – Kempas, Brushwood and Tasmanian Oak – and is constructed from a combination of hardwood surface and engineered plantation timber layers.

Available in a choice of tongue and groove single, double and triple strip formats it is delivered pre-finished with seven layers of tough, but flexible, scratch resistant UV sealer and lacquer that creates a really hard, durable barrier that will retain the original finish of the flooring far longer than conventional finishes.

Installation has been so streamlined that an average-sized domestic floor can be completed and ready to walk on in just a day, creating significant savings on installation costs.

Installation can be carried out over existing flooring and/or where height is restricted. The tongue and groove edges are simply glued together. Because all the finishing is done in the factory, the floor is ready to walk on as soon as it is laid and there are no strong, lingering fumes from sealers and finishers. The product carries a 25 year structural warranty.

Amber’s laminate flooring range, meanwhile, utilises an innovative ‘click-lock’ system and is available in five timber types – Beech Medium, Blonde Beech, Pecan, Jarrah and Cherry – and carries a ten year structural guarantee and surface wear warranty.

This version of the timber floor is an extremely affordable option that has a unique locking system whereby each piece simply clicks and locks into place with the next piece. Installation is fast, easy and the quick-lock seams eliminate the accumulation of dust and dirt.

The tight, perfectly fitted seams ensure any movement, due to temperature fluctuation, is spread across the entire floor so there is no risk of buckling or warping.

A further advantage of the laminate flooring is there is no need to sand and seal as each board is delivered pre-finished.
