Imerge, an innovator for hard disk based audio devices will unveil its next generation Soundserver, the S3000 at this year’s CEDIA Expo. The new XiVA software platform introduces a plethora of new capabilities, whilst maintaining the audio quality and advanced functionality of the S2000 it replaces.

A slick new Web browser interface allows users to control the media on the server from any Flash enabled web browser whilst improved network connectivity provides direct access to the media stored on the S3000 from either MAC or Windows devices. This enables iPod connectivity, music import and export, cover art import and music streaming.

Multiple S3000 Soundservers can now be interconnected to share media in a master and slave configuration to provide up to 16 independent audio outputs and/or up to four independent TV control interfaces.

Browse options have been improved to allow users to search for music by cover art, music era, year of release and for individual tracks. In addition a new ‘keyword search’ function allows quick access to any specific selection.

S3000’s new XiVA software also introduces direct back up to any network attached hard drive, enhanced play list functionality, user defined genres as well as support for Windows Media Audio (WMA) format.

The S3000 is enabled for online software upgrades. Now all S3000 Soundserver customers will be able to add the latest software feature set to their compatible Imerge Soundserver at the touch of a button.
