According to a NAMUR study, operating errors lead to more downtime in modern transmitters than hardware defects, malfunctions or measuring errors.

Knick’s Stratos Pro series of transmitters, available from Alvi Technologies , which measures pH, redox potential (ORP), conductivity, toroidal conductivity and oxygen concentration values, eliminates this drawback due to a completely new, colour-based operating concept, ensuring intuitive operation.

The Stratos Pro transmitters’ widescreen display indicates operating modes in six different colours. The standard measuring mode, for example, has a white backlight, while displays in the information mode are displayed in green.

The diagnosis menu, maintenance requirements and the Hold mode are also indicated by specific colours. The alarm status was assigned a deep shade of red, and invalid input and wrong pass numbers are signalised through a flashing red display. Additionally, concise, self-explanatory pictograms facilitate operation.

Equipped with universal connection options, the new product family also ensures high flexibility in measuring electrochemical parameters: Stratos Pro units support standard analogue sensors as well as digital ISM and digital contact-free InduCon or Memosens sensors.

Due to a new circuit technology, the Stratos Pro transmitter enables operation with virtually all standard sensors for the first time.

The robust, UV-resistant IP67 plastic housing allows for operation even in rugged environments. The display window consists of hardened 3mm safety glass.

The Stratos Pro series includes intrinsically safe two-wire models for use in hazardous areas (zone 1 / Class 1 Division 1) with the sensor installed in zone 0 as well as two-wire models for safe areas.

The Stratos Pro transmitters feature an analogue current input, which allows users to e.g. loop through temperature or pressure signals.

Moreover, the Stratos Pro transmitters are equipped with a second current output for a second measured value. Knick also supply mains-operated four-wire models suitable for use in zone 2 / Class 1 Division 2.

These units come with a VariPower wide range power supply unit, which has been used with other devices from Knick's product portfolio for years.

It allows users to employ the same device – with the same order number – with mains supplies at 20...253 V AC/DC and 45 - 65Hz.

All devices support HART communication and are certified for standard asset management systems from well-known process control system suppliers.
