Two products from Altro Safety Flooring were installed at the Woodhouse Grove School swimming pool facility to bring about a complete transformation. About 470 square metres of Altro Aquarius safety flooring as well as Altro Whiterock wall cladding were installed at the pool facility to meet the specific application requirements.
Project Manager, Jim Gordon and architects, Wake Architects specified Altro Aquarius safety flooring as the product addressed a range of applications combining shoe and barefoot use in both wet and dry environments. Being multi-functional, Altro Aquarius could be used in all the areas, including the changing rooms, pool surround and spectator seating, enabling a consistent look and feel to the whole design while reducing the risk of slips and trips.
David Loud from Paynters Contracts Ltd installed the safety flooring at the school. He explained that a technically demanding installation such as the one presented by Woodhouse Grove School's new swimming pool complex required an integrated solution for walls, floors, adhesives, damp-proof membranes and specialised trims. He added that Altro’s products provided a single solution for all the exacting requirements in such a unique installation.
