A new generation 2.5mm safety flooring from Altro Safety Flooring was specified for the art workshops at Worcester Sixth Form College.
Installers Concept Flooring specified Altro Unity safety flooring for the application as it provided additional thickness for the heavy duty area.
Concept Flooring’s Norman Dyer explained that the client’s brief sought a heavy duty flooring solution, which could withstand the heavy use of the art workshops as well as spillages and staining. The additional 0.5mm in Altro Unity gives the extra resilience needed for certain environments compared to most 2mm safety floors. Concept Flooring installed over 100m² of the product in the colour 'Runway' to complement the artwork display on the walls.
College Site Manager Chris Hart is already benefitting from the extra reassurance and durability afforded by Altro Unity’s 2.5mm safety flooring.
According to Chris Hart, the college runs a number of AS/A level courses in art and design, subjecting the floors and surfaces in their art workshops to frequent use. The workshops previously featured 2mm flooring, which had to be replaced after five years due to heavy wear with all the paint and glue spills.
He noted that the Altro Easyclean Maxis PUR technology in Altro Unity contributed to easy cleaning and maintenance, in addition to excellent colour retention.
