Air Board acoustic translucent panels from Allplastics Engineering were specified for an office in Port Hedland located in Western Australia’s remote north. Selected by Whispering Smith Architecture in Perth for the IBN Corporation Project, the 19mm thick acoustic screens from Allplastics Architecture and Building Division were specified not only for noise screening but also to create a light source in the office environment where light disbursement was required in the work areas.

Installed by Construct 360 Pty Ltd, the acoustic feature separates workstations from a staff breakout area room and provides some privacy while allowing light to come through into the workspace.

The translucence of Air Board acoustic panels allows architects, designers and acoustic engineers to combine transparency with improved room acoustics. In addition to the reduced reverberation time, which results in better acoustics, the panels also offer low weight advantages, assisting the project manager with easily assembled installations.
