Allplastics Engineering used Staron solid surfaces to custom fabricate retail display cabinets for Danish shoe manufacturer ECCO at the Sydney International Airport. Based on the extremely artistic and geometric design by architectural design studio Geoform Architects, the retail displays featuring a white honeycomb structure spliced on a timber base, stand out in the environment.
Staron, created by technology leader Samsung, comprises of a natural and pure mineral derived from bauxite ore and blended with an advanced pure acrylic resin, resulting in a premium surface material. Being non-porous, Staron’s surface cannot be penetrated by any stain. The material has a smooth finish, and is also repairable and renewable.
Staron solid surfaces offer a choice of over 80 colours, providing a solution that pushes the boundaries of design.

Danish brand ECCO specialises in footwear as well as accessories and leather productions. The hardwearing materials selected by Allplastics for the retail fitout totally met their expectations for durability in the demanding and high traffic environment of the Sydney International Airport. Combined with LED lighting and clear polished edge acrylic shelves, the final design outcome was a winner.
