Public libraries are no longer a sedate environment with fluorescent lightning and students sitting at tables with volumes of books. The modern library is gradually being transformed into a colourful domain where the young and not so young can enjoy the access to e-books and a wide spectrum of modern tools for research as well as the traditional printed books.

Kelmscott Library in Perth, Western Australia recently went through a renovation process. MKDC is an award winning interior design practice specialising in creating functional workspace environments for private and public sector organisations were selected to design the new library.
