A McDonald’s restaurant in Auckland, New Zealand was in need of an upgrade. Its dated polymarble counter was subsequently replaced with Akril splashbacks.

The McDonald’s logo was first removed from the counter, and the surface was cleaned.

Mocha coloured Akril splashbacks were cut to size, edge polished and installed directly onto the existing counter.

The splashbacks were fastened onto the counter using sign writers double side tape and structural glazing silicon.

Thanks to the lightweight qualities of the splashbacks, the counter was able to maintain its original structure.

The need for mechanical fixing or bracing was also eliminated for this reason.

Fabrication and installation time was thus extremely efficient, taking a mere three hours.

Thanks to installation of these splashbacks this particular McDonald’s restaurant now has a more modern, contemporary feel.
