FIneline-XT Series operable glass louvres from Record Automated Doors were recently installed at Burwood train station, which recently underwent a major refurbishment.

Experienced public transport architects, Caldis Cook, selected AGP’s Fineline-XT operable glass louvres for the two lanterns that provide natural light from the platforms down into the pedestrian subway area below.

Steel UB columns were installed to support the roof structure and the Record Automated Doors louvre system were installed in between. The overall height of the system was 4.8m with louvre spans up to 1.5m. Clear toughened laminated glass measuring 13.52mm thick was used for both the louvres and fixed glazing.

Each louvre bank is divided into upper and lower areas for switching purposes, with the louvres controlled via a separate open and closed operator switch, within line of sight for safety reasons.
